Scott Bader is a multinational specialist chemical company- leaders in the development and manufacture of advanced resins, gel coats, adhesives and polymers.
Continuous innovation is at the heart of the company’s success.
To help streamline Scott Bader’s development and technical processes we designed the “Ernest Bader” Technical Centre which not only brings the company’s analytical laboratories and technical support people together but incorporated advanced moulding and prototype space.
The outcome is a streamlined development process and fast technical response to customers.
The Centre was designed to be a low energy building with high insulation and thermal mass, an abundance of natural light and solar protection. Scott Bader is based at an environmentally and historic site in Northamptonshire - the old manor house which is the main reception building dates back to the 14th century.
In parallel with the new Centre we designed a new long term Site Master Plan - an environment for innovation- where R&D, marketing and production management were clustered round a central green - not unlike a village green.
The Master Plan was developed in close collaboration with the local planning authority and within the context of the sensitive nature of the site, retaining many mature trees and rationalising manufacturing plant.
